Scientific sessions

The conference on Ecohydraulics will explore cutting-edge developments in the field and welcome contributions from wet, semiarid and arid regions targeting either perennial or ephemeral streams. By this mean, it will also emphasize sustainable solutions for aquatic ecosystems in the face of global change. Session A will highlight innovations in experimental, numerical, and theoretical approaches, enhancing our scientific fundamental understanding of ecohydraulic processes. Session B introduces a novel, interdisciplinary perspective for future interactions and collaborations by integrating social, architectural, and engineering aspects to address the societal challenges posed by environmental change. Sessions C and D will focus on practical applications of ecohydraulics in inland and coastal water systems, respectively, showcasing sustainable management strategies that balance ecological integrity with human needs. Advances in monitoring techniques (Session E) will be discussed to improve data collection and decision-making for resilient water systems. Finally, the Swiss Ecohydraulics Day (Session F) will provide a platform for regional expertise and collaboration. By bridging science, practice, and society, the conference will foster sustainable ecohydraulic solutions that ensure the long-term health of aquatic environments worldwide.
