Session E: Monitoring techniques for ecohydraulics

  • E1 – Remote sensing
  • E2 – Real time monitoring
  • E3 – AI approaches

Session description

This session explores cutting-edge monitoring techniques in ecohydraulics, highlighting advancements in data collection, analysis, and interpretation at the laboratory and field scales. Contributions will focus on remote sensing (E1), showcasing how satellite imagery, UAVs, and other technologies enhance monitoring of environmental flows and ecohydraulic processes, in general. Real-time monitoring (E2) will be addressed, emphasizing sensor networks and data acquisition systems that provide instant insights into hydrodynamic and ecological processes. Additionally, the session will cover AI approaches (E3), including agent-based models, image processing, object detection, and tracking, demonstrating how artificial intelligence improves ecohydraulic assessments. By integrating these innovative techniques, researchers can enhance the understanding of aquatic ecosystems, optimize habitat management, and support sustainable water resource planning. The session invites submissions that present novel methodologies, case studies, and interdisciplinary applications to advance ecohydraulic monitoring.Â
